Milky Way Pie
Yes, Milky Way Pie is the ultimate! This spectacular pie is chocolaty and filled with caramel and gooey deliciousness. It is certainly the cure for any chocolate fix or sugar craving you’re having. Rich doesn’t begin to describe this luscious pie. The caramel nougat from the Milky Way Bars make this pie more decadent and mouthwatering than you can believe.

My husband was tasked with the responsibility of cleaning out the candy aisles for me after Halloween. He bought SO MUCH candy that I made thousands of cookies for our Christmas Cookie Extravaganza last year. Plus, I made about 14 pies with all of it. I initially sent the Milky Way Pies into his office along with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie, Butterfinger Pie, Baby Ruth Pie and Twix Candy Bar Pie.
Then one of the gals we know really well, won some kind of prize and the gift was a pie of her choice. She wanted the Milky Way Pie. So I made a couple more of these pies. She got one and John put another one out in the break room. It wasn’t there very long before it was snatched up by all the passersby.
Milky Way Pie is filled with Milky Way Bars. It’s just one of those sensational desserts that’s terrific for special occasions, holidays like Valentine’s Day, or just because! Seriously, Milky Way Pie rocks. If you need a chocolate or a caramel dessert, put this fantastic pie on your menu. But you better make two while you’re at it. Just saying…..
Milky Way Pie is exceptionally good.
Milky Way Pie is rich, decadent and so mouthwatering.
Everyone loved this pie!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Roll out pie crust.
Spread pie crust into pie plate. Flute edges. Set aside.
Mix eggs with an electric beater until frothy. This will take between 3-5 minutes.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add sugar and brown sugar.
Mix with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add melted butter.
Mix again with an electric mixer until smooth. Be careful of splatters!
Add two cups chopped Milky Way Bars.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Pour filling into pie shell.
Bake at 325 for 45 minutes. Remove from oven.
Add remaining cup of chopped Milky Way Bars.
Bake an additional 30 minutes or until pie is set.
Allow pie to cool slightly before cutting and serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
Milky Way Pie is a delectable dessert.
This wonderful dessert is terrific for company or holiday dinners like Valentine’s Day.

One more thing I forgot to ask: Does this need to be refrigerated?
Thanks!

I actually freeze the recipe. Refrigeration alone makes it too soft and soupy. I take it out about 30 minutes before serving.

Yes, Andi, I froze it a couple of months before giving it away to someone.

I remember years ago seeing a cake made with 3-musketeer bars….. is there a pie using those melted in the filling along with pieces ?? I love these pies that you have created ! Thank You for all your hard work and sharing with us.

Hi, Adeline. I’m sure this recipe would be wonderful with melted Milky Way Bars just like chopped. Sounds yummy to me. Thanks for sharing!

Any idea how much longer I would need to bake this if using a frozen pie crust? The pie crust directions said to not thaw the crust which is what I figured I could do.

Hi, Jessica. I would start with the regular baking time. Add about ten minutes if it looks like you need to (you may have to cover with foil so the top doesn’t brown too much). Personally, I would probably pull the crust out to thaw while I was making the other ingredients. But it’s your call. Enjoy.

This pie was a hit for my dad’s 75th birthday. He’s a Milky Way fan so I make something Milky Way flavored every year. Can’t wait to try it with my favorites candy bar—100 Grand.

Hi Teresa: Milky Way has been my favorite candy bar since I was a kid, so this pie sounds & looks awfully good to me. I hesitate to ask for the Nutritional Value, but I’m hoping it won’t be too bad. I must say, you have quite an imagination when it comes to creating recipes. Also, I don’t know how you have time to do all that you do in a day. You go, sweetie! 🙂

Thanks, Angelina. I have to admit I bake in binges. I will go one week and make 15 different things. Then the next two weeks maybe only a recipe or two! I’m sorry I don’t have a nutritional value listing, but you can always cut the pieces in half. If you like Milky Way Bars, you’ve gotta give this pie a try. I think you will be delighted with it.
