Milky Way Pie

Yes, Milky Way Pie is the ultimate! This spectacular pie is chocolaty and filled with caramel and gooey deliciousness. It is certainly the cure for any chocolate fix or sugar craving you’re having. Rich doesn’t begin to describe this luscious pie. The caramel nougat from the Milky Way Bars make this pie more decadent and mouthwatering than you can believe.

My husband was tasked with the responsibility of cleaning out the candy aisles for me after Halloween. He bought SO MUCH candy that I made thousands of cookies for our Christmas Cookie Extravaganza last year. Plus, I made about 14 pies with all of it. I initially sent the Milky Way Pies into his office along with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie, Butterfinger Pie, Baby Ruth Pie and Twix Candy Bar Pie.

Then one of the gals we know really well, won some kind of prize and the gift was a pie of her choice. She wanted the Milky Way Pie. So I made a couple more of these pies. She got one and John put another one out in the break room. It wasn’t there very long before it was snatched up by all the passersby.

Milky Way Pie is filled with Milky Way Bars. It’s just one of those sensational desserts that’s terrific for special occasions, holidays like Valentine’s Day, or just because! Seriously, Milky Way Pie rocks. If you need a chocolate or a caramel dessert, put this fantastic pie on your menu. But you better make two while you’re at it. Just saying…..

Milky Way Pie is exceptionally good.

Milky Way Pie is rich, decadent and so mouthwatering.

Everyone loved this pie!

Here’s what I did.

I used these ingredients.

Roll out pie crust.

Spread pie crust into pie plate. Flute edges. Set aside.

Mix eggs with an electric beater until frothy. This will take between 3-5 minutes.

Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add sugar and brown sugar.

Mix with an electric mixer until smooth.

Add melted butter.

Mix again with an electric mixer until smooth. Be careful of splatters!

Add two cups chopped Milky Way Bars.

Stir ingredients to combine.

Pour filling into pie shell.

Bake at 325 for 45 minutes. Remove from oven.

Add remaining cup of chopped Milky Way Bars.

Bake an additional 30 minutes or until pie is set.

Allow pie to cool slightly before cutting and serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Milky Way Pie is a delectable dessert.

This wonderful dessert is terrific for company or holiday dinners like Valentine’s Day.

• 1 large mixing bowl
• 1 electric mixer
• 1 wooden spoon
• 1 sharp knife to chop Milky Way bars
• measuring cups
• measuring spoons

Ingredients

  

1x2x3x

• 2 large eggs
• 1/2 cup UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods)
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
• 1 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled slightly
• 3 cups Milky Way Bars chopped, divided use
• 1 unbaked pie shell

Instructions

 

• Preheat oven to 325°.
• In large bowl, beat eggs until foamy; this will take 3-5 minutes.
• Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar until well-blended.
• Blend in the cooled, melted butter.
• Stir in 2 cups chopped Milky Way Bars.
• Pour into pie shell.
• Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.
• Sprinkle remaining chopped Milky Way Bars on top.
• Continue baking an additional 30 minutes.
• Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

NOTE: A 10.65-oz. bag of fun size Milky Way Bars yielded almost 2 ½ cups of chopped Milky Way Bars. I cut each fun size bar in eighths.
