Butterfinger Meltaways are the ultimate in a "melt-in-your-mouth cookie. These heavenly cookies include chopped Butterfingers so they explode with luscious chocolate and peanut butter flavors. They're perfect for holiday baking, a Christmas Cookie Exchange, tailgating parties or potlucks. Be prepared: These irresistible cookies will have you swooning from the first bite!
Combine butter, oil, granulated sugar, confectioners’ sugar, eggs, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl.
Mix with an electric mixer until creamy and smooth.
Stir in flour and chopped Butterfingers with a wooden spoon.
Shape cookies into balls.
Roll in granulated sugar.
Put cookie balls 3" apart on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes.
Rotate cookie sheets on oven racks after 8 minutes of baking time.
Cool.

NOTE: The secret to these cookies is making sure they are not crowded. Give them plenty of space when baking as they spread.NOTE: My cookies took about 18-19 minutes to bake.NOTE: A 12.375-oz. bag of Butterfingers yields 2 cups of chopped Butterfingers.
