BLT Salad is a fabulous Bacon, lettuce and tomato salad that includes parmesan cheese, homemade gluten free croutons, and a homemade Creamy Parmesan Dressing. Great for a main dish or side salad. It's eating the best of BLT Sandwiches but in salad form! Gluten free.
36-oz. bagsbutter bliss lettuce(or your favorite kind of lettuce)
10oz. containergrape tomaoteshalved
10oz. containeryellow sunburst tomatoeshalved
16oz.thick sliced applewood smoked baconcrisp fried, broken into one-two inch pieces
1cupparmesan cheeseshredded
2cupshomemade croutonsor your favorite croutons
1batchCreamy Parmesan Dressing
Instructions
Cook bacon and set aside.
Layer salad, tomatoes and parmesan cheese in salad bowl.
Add cooked bacon pieces.
Toss with Creamy Parmesan Dressing before serving.
Garnish with homemade croutons.
Notes
NOTE: Do not refrigerate salad with croutons on top. Allow the croutons to sit out on the counter or they may get soggy. Add croutons just before serving.NOTE: While I didn't break the bacon into 1 to 2-inch pieces before serving, I recommend it as it's easier to eat the bacon that way.NOTE: If you can't eat pork, substitute turkey bacon for the pork in the recipe.
