Candied Sweet Potatoes

Delicious three-ingredient sweet potato recipe that's great to serve with pork, ham, and turkey. A traditional Thanksgiving favorite!

Ingredients
  

  • 8 large sweet potatoes partially baked
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or more, if desired

Instructions
 

  • Bake sweet potatoes about 45 minutes at 350.
  • Remove from oven and peel.
  • Cut potatoes in large chunks or one-half-inch slices, if preferred
  • Melt butter in cast-iron skillet over low to medium heat.
  • Add sweet potatoes; sprinkle with brown sugar.
  • Sauté sweet potatoes in sauce over low heat.
  • Turn over sweet potatoes with spatula frequently to coat sweet potatoes with candy glaze.
  • Cook about 15-20 minutes until potatoes are well-glazed.

Notes

NOTE: You can cover the skillet with a lid part of the cooking time to ensure the potatoes finish cooking all the way through.
