4 to 5cupsNorthwest Cherry Growers cherriespitted and halved
1tbsp.lemon juice
1tsp.almond extract
ALMOND GLAZE:
1cuppowdered sugar
1tsp.almond extract
1tbsp.half-and-half
Instructions
CHERRY COBBLER:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Melt butter in a 9x13” glass baking dish.
Meanwhile, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add milk (or half-and-half).
Stir just until dry ingredients are moist.
Pour batter over butter in baking dish.
(Do NOT stir.)
Bring 1 cup sugar, cherries, and lemon juice to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in almond extract.
Pour over batter in baking dish.
(Do NOT stir).
Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until the top is brown.
Allow cobbler to cool completely before adding glaze.
ALMOND GLAZE:
Combine ingredients with a whisk and drizzle over cooled cobbler.
Notes
NOTE: If you try to substitute a thinner milk for the half-and-half in the glaze, the consistency will be off. You will have to decrease the amount, otherwise, the glaze will be too thin and runny.
