Fudgy M&M Brownies

These rich, decadent brownies are absolutely divine! They are filled with M&Ms and drizzled with a chocolate icing. Top with ice cream and chocolate sauce and you have a match made in heaven. Perfect for holidays, tailgating, potlucks or barbecues!

Equipment

  • 1 9x13" glass baking dish
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 microwaveable dish
  • 1 spatula
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 microwave oven
  • 1 zip lock bag without the "stand and fill" bottom

Ingredients
  

BROWNIES:

  • 2 cups unsalted butter melted
  • 2 1/2 cups cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods)
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 4 cups M&Ms (divided use)

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white vanilla chips

Instructions
 

BROWNIES:

  • Melt butter.
  • Add cocoa, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour and salt and mix with an electric mixer until thoroughly mixed.
  • Batter will be stiff.
  • Add 3 cups M&Ms and stir well to combine.
  • Press mixture into a greased 9x13” glass baking dish.
  • Spread remaining cup of M&Ms over top and press M&Ms into the dough.
  • Bake at 350 about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool completely before adding glaze.

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

  • Place chips in a microwavable measuring cup and microwave about 30 seconds at 100% power.
  • Stir.
  • Continue microwaving or stirring in 15 second intervals until chips are melted.
  • This will take about 1 ½ minutes.
  • Scoop icing into a zip lock bag.
  • Cut off tip from one corner.
  • Pipe glaze onto brownies.
