Ham and Noodles

Ham and Noodles is one of those stick-to-the-rib meals that's hearty, satisfying and filling. It's a delicious slow cooker recipe that's so easy to make, yet fantastic to the taste buds. This comfort food meal is terrific on cold, winter nights when you want a hot meal to warm you up!

1 large ham bone yielding 2 cups diced ham when cooked off 2 to 3 quarts water or as needed 1/2 cup UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour 3/4 cup cold water 16 oz. pkg. wide egg noodles uncooked Salt and pepper to taste dried parsley to taste dried thyme to taste
Place ham bone in a slow cooker.
Fill with water.
Sprinkle generously with salt, pepper and parsley.
Heat overnight or on a low setting for 8 hours.
Remove ham to a large platter.
Remove fat, bones and gristle and discard.
Dice ham in small pieces; set aside.
Season ham broth with salt, pepper, parsley and thyme, as desired.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk flour into cold water.
Gradually add the flour paste mixture to the crockpot with ham and broth.
Add uncooked noodles and season again with salt, pepper, thyme and parsley.
Continue cooking on low heat until noodles are soft, approximately a couple of hours.
Add ham and heat through.
Sprinkle with parsley and thyme for garnish, if desired.
NOTE: The longer the Ham and Noodles sit out, the more liquid the noodles will absorb. You can always add additional hot water, if necessary.
