Hearty Cowboy Baked Beans

This amazing baked beans recipe uses six different kinds of beans, bacon, ground beef or turkey and is smothered in a wonderful sauce with barbecue sauce, liquid smoke and cinder vinegar for superb taste. Great for potlucks and summer holiday menus.

1 lb. ground beef cooked and drained; ground turkey can also be substituted 1/2 to 1 lb. bacon cut in 1-2” segments 15 oz. can lima beans rinsed and drained 15 oz. can red beans rinsed and drained; I like these better than kidney beans 15 oz. can butter beans drained 2 large cans Bush’s pork ‘n beans, with brown sugar or honey DO NOT DRAIN (about 36-48-oz. each) 15 oz. can navy beans rinsed and drained, or great northern beans 15 oz. can black beans rinsed and drained, or 1 can pinto or chili beans, or you can use all 3 if you like! 16 oz. bottle KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce or Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce or your favorite BBQ sauce 1/2 cup brown sugar packed 1 tbsp. liquid smoke 3 tbsp. apple cider vinegar 1 tsp. minced garlic I buy the stuff in the jar 1 large onion diced, or 2 small onions, chopped 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper
Brown ground beef and bacon.
Drain.
In large Dutch Oven or roaster combine all the ingredients.
Cook on medium heat about an hour.
Or you can put in your crockpot.
Cook about 3 hours on high, or 8-10 hours on low.
