Peachy Fruit Salad is refreshing and so marvelous to the taste buds! This luscious Fruit Salad is made with assorted canned and fresh fruits and includes a can of Peach Pie Filling. It's great for summer holidays and potlucks, but this can be made all year round. Festive and elegant enough or any Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner menu.

Equipment

  • 1 large salad bowl or trifle dish
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 sharp knife to peel or dice fruit
  • measuring cups
  • 1 sharp knife to cut fruit
  • 1 small bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans peach pie filling
  • 30 oz. can apricots drained and cut in small pieces
  • 29 oz. can peaches drained and cut in small pieces
  • 29 oz. can pears drained and cut in small pieces
  • 16 oz. can chunk pineapple drained, but reserve juice
  • 14 oz. can mandarin orange segments drained
  • 1 lb. fresh strawberries washed and sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups red grapes sliced in halves
  • 1 large Gala Apple sliced and dipped in reserved pineapple juice
  • 3 large ripe bananas sliced and dipped in reserved pineapple juice to stop spoilage and browning

Instructions
 

  • Reserve pineapple juice.
  • Dip apple slices and bananas in the reserved pineapple juice.
  • Mix together all remaining ingredients and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

NOTE: Use the reserved pineapple juice to prevent browning in bananas, apples, or any other fresh fruits like pears or peaches.
 
NOTE: I don't add bananas unless I am serving the salad immediately.
