Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies
Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies are delectable. I saw these fabulous looking cookies a week or two ago and knew immediately I needed to make them! Chocolate Chip Cookies with chunks of Oreo cookies in them! Do I hear an Amen! These cookies are fantastic and not much more work than making regular chocolate chip cookies. I followed the recipe pretty closely.
The only thing I did differently was to cut the Oreos up in eighths instead of smashing them any which way, as this ended up being easier for me. The cookies hold their shape pretty well and taste insanely good. If you love Chocolate Chip Cookies, and if you love Oreos, you will LOVE the combination of the two of them.
Let me introduce you to a wonderful food blog. Eat Cake For Dinner is one of the first food blogs I stumbled across when I discovered Pinterest a year and a half ago. Of course the name is catchy, but I just loved all the cool looking desserts she had posted on the side bars of her blog. I found myself spending way too much time finding and pinning recipes from her blog that I wanted to try later (after I finished my graduate degree), and had more time.
Anyway, if you’re looking for some jazzy desserts and can’t find anything on my blog (hehehe), by all means skip on over to her blog and check it out. I came across Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies when it came out a couple of weeks ago because I subscribe to her food blog via a Reader. I check out her blog and about 75 others by looking through Google Reader (soon to be extinct) or BlogLovin’ a few times a week. It’s a great way to find inspiration and ideas for recipes for your family.
If you’ve got some leftover Oreos from another dessert that you want to put to good use (which is what I did for this recipe), then consider using them here. Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies are a winner! Your family will thank you, thank you, thank you, for making these delicious treats.
Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies are to die for!
Lots of delicious Oreo chunks and Oreo sandwich cream in every cookie!
Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies are also loaded with chocolate chips. What more could you ask for in a cookie?
Here’s a close up so you can see the texture of this fabulous cookie. These cookies are great for after school snacks, or to take along with you to a soccer game or gymnastics practice!
Here’s what I did.
Soften butter to room temperature. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Add kosher salt and baking soda.
Beat with an electric mixer to combine.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. I started cutting up the Oreos. I found that cutting the cookies in eighths worked well. Toss into the mixing bowl with the other ingredients. Add chocolate chips. Stir with a wooden spoon to combine. Shape into balls and place on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake for 12-14 minutes at 350. The original recipe says 8-9 minutes. My cookies were actually still rising at 14 minutes! And, yes, it’s calibrated to 350. This batch makes about 4 dozen cookies.
If you take a tray of Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies out to your office they will be gobbled up in no time!
I’m salivating right now as I look at all these pictures!
These cookies hold their shape really well during baking and don’t flatten out too much. Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies are yum, yum good!
