Gluten Free Living – 2025
Maple Glazed Chicken Wings are scrumptious to serve either as an appetizer or a main dish. This easy 7-ingredient recipe is marinated in a delicious chili sauce-maple syrup marinade for a few hours and then tossed onto the grill to cook. The wings are basted with additional marinade while grilling. The chicken wings turn out wonderfully whether you serve them plain, or dip them in a honey-mustard sauce or a chipotle-style sauce. You’ll be licking your chops after every delicious bite!

When we grilled up these tasty wings last July, I actually ate most of them for dinner with a side of Spicy Honey-Brushed Carrots. They reheated wonderfully in a toaster oven for leftovers. But the chicken wings were also delightful with different dipping sauces as well and served as an appetizer instead.
This recipe is gluten free if you use a gluten free Worcestershire sauce like Lea and Perrin’s. You also need to skip the Heinz chili sauce (filled with chemicals) and find a chili sauce without gluten. I found one in the Asian aisle of the grocery store as I was trying to get one with the least amount of bad chemicals as possible.
If you’re responsible for bringing meat to tailgating parties or potlucks, Maple Glazed Chicken Wings will be a hit with everyone. Bring a few different salad dressings or dipping sauces to serve it with and everyone will go away merry and happy. 🙂

Maple Glazed Chicken Wings is a great appetizer served with Honey Mustard or Chipotle flavored dipping sauces.

These wings are terrific as an appetizer for any tailgating party.

I marinated the chicken wings for four hours before grilling.
Here’s what I did.

I used these ingredients. My Worcestershire sauce and chili sauce were both gluten free.

Place maple syrup, Honey Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes and chili sauce in a mixing bowl.

Add onions and Worcestershire sauce.

Stir ingredients well to combine.

Measure out one cup of the marinade to use as a basting sauce when grilling. Refrigerate.

Cut the chicken wings in three pieces. Discard the wing tips.

Here, all of the chicken wings have been cut.

Transfer the chicken wing pieces to the bowl with marinade.

Stir well to combine.

Pour mixture into a gallon-size zip lock bag and seal. Turn the bag over a few times so the chicken gets good coverage with the marinade. Refrigerate 4 hours. Turn a few times while marinating.

Place chicken pieces on the grill over medium heat. Baste with marinade after 10-12 minutes.

Turn chicken pieces over and baste with marinade.

Grill another 8-10 minutes, basting and turning chicken frequently. Grill until done.

Transfer chicken wings to a serving platter to serve.

You’ll be licking your chops over every one of these delicious Maple Glazed Chicken Wings.

If serving as an appetizer, add a dipping sauce of your choice.

Maple Glazed Chicken Wings were actually wonderful served as a dinner option with Spicy Honey-Brushed Carrots.
Here’s the recipe.
