I love Maple Raisin Fig Bread! It was really supposed to be a Maple Raisin Bread but I ran out of raisins so I added figs instead. Wow, it was wonderful. I bought a bag of dried figs for something else I was making a few months ago and when I realized I didn’t have enough raisins I thought I might as well add the figs and try to use them up. The figs added amazing flavor and texture to the bread.
I made this bread a couple of weeks ago for some friends who were moving into a new home. I always like to take a loaf of fresh home-baked bread anytime I provide a meal for someone. There’s no comparison between homemade bread and the stuff in the grocery store. And this loaf was so wonderful with the dried fruits baked into it.

This delicious bread is so easy to make because it’s made in the breadmaker!
I spread jams, preserves, and even almond butter on this bread. Everything I tried was wonderful.
Here’s what I did.
I used all these ingredients plus dried figs. I didn’t realize when I began that I didn’t have enough raisins to complete the recipe so I added the figs. I’m sure glad I did. They tasted great.
Add milk, brown sugar, butter and maple flavoring to bread canister.
Add salt, bread flour (NOT all-purpose flour), yeast, raisins and figs. Place in breadmaker and bake on basic cycle or sweet bread cycle.
Allow bread to rest 15 minutes before removing from breadmaker oven. Brush top and sides of bread with butter to prevent crust from hardening.
Allow bread to rest an additional 15 minutes. Slice bread down into slices. Makes about 12 slices.
This bread had a wonderful taste. The figs added so much additional flavor and texture.
I loved the raisins, figs, and maple flavor in this bread.

MAPLE RAISIN FIG BREAD
(Recipe adapted from Black and Decker)
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. maple flavoring
- 1 ¼ tsp. salt
- 4 ¼ cups bread flour (NOT all-purpose flour)
- 1 ½ tsp. yeast
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 2/3 cup sliced dried figs
- Layer ingredients in bread canister in order given.
- Select basic bread cycle or sweet bread cycle.
- Allow bread to rest 15 minutes after completion of cycle.
- Remove bread and brush top and sides with butter to prevent crusts from hardening.
- Allow bread to rest an additional 15 minutes before slicing down into slices.
- Makes a 2-lb. loaf.
