Peanut Butter Caramel Bars
I love this Peanut Butter Caramel Bars recipe. I’ve made the basic recipe hundreds of times over the years. But I also enjoy putting a different spin on it occasionally. It’s terrific with white chocolate chips and Heath English Toffee bits. It’s also excellent using Nutella instead of the regular chocolate chips. This time I used sea salt caramel chips and it turned out just as decadent as all those other recipes.

My husband found a bunch of sea salt caramel chips on sale back in January and I’ve been trying to think of ways to use them up. They work fabulously as brownies with a caramel icing, and one of these days I’m going to get around to making them in cookies. This time, however, I decided to pair them with peanut butter in one of my favorite recipes. Yes, peanut butter and caramel chips are soooooo good together!
One of the things that makes this recipe so quick and easy is that all but one of the ingredients are thrown into a bowl and whisked together. Then after spreading the mixture in a baking dish, the caramel chips are arranged over top. After about 5 minutes of baking time, the softened caramel chips are swirled into the batter and marbleized before cooking the bars the rest of the way. Seriously, this dish can be oven ready in about 5-7 minutes. The whole recipe can be done in about 30 minutes. Q-U-I-C-K, E-A-S-Y, D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!
Peanut Butter Caramel Bars is the perfect dessert for those needing to throw something together at the last minute (assuming you keep your pantry stocked with the caramel chips). It’s a superb choice for potlucks, backyard get-togethers with friends or even tailgating parties. You will be amazed at how quickly these delicious brownies get devoured. But be warned, grab one first or you may find them all G-O-N-E!!! 🙂
