This side view shows the peanut butter cups. A surprise is awaiting each person who samples one of these delicacies! Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Surprises are heavenly!
Here’s what I did.
In a large mixing bowl put softened butter, brown sugar, white sugar and eggs. Add baking soda, baking powder, salt and real (not imitation) vanilla.
Whisk to combine or use an electric mixer.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Also add chocolate chips.
Stir ingredients with a wooden spoon to combine.
Press half of the chocolate chip cookie dough into a 9×13″ glass baking dish that’s been sprayed with cooking spray.
Unwrap Reese cups and remove and discard wrappers. Place Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in a 4×6 pattern for a total of 24, .75-oz. cups in each pan.
Press remaining cookie dough on top of peanut butter cup layer. I pressed the dough in my hands to flatten it out. You can also roll it out with a rolling pin and place the dough on top, if you desire.
Bake at 350 for about 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
If you love chocolate and peanut butter, you will love this recipe! Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Surprises are great for tailgating parties, the Superbowl, or even holiday baking!
