I took this dessert to an Empty Nesters’ Potluck at our church in December. Everyone swooned over this dessert. No kidding!!! I’ve made several of these trifle desserts for previous potlucks, but I hardly had any left when I took this one home. Everyone wanted a spoonful even though there were several desserts to choose from.
I purchase the Caramel Apple Pie Filling from Lucky Leaf. Our H-E-B stores in Texas carry so many of their amazing flavors of pie filling and this fantastic recipe is great with ALL of them. If apple desserts are speaking your language, then pick up a couple of cans of this pie filling the next time you’re out shopping. Caramel Apple flavor is significantly better than plain apple pie filling.
Caramel Apple Angel Trifle is a fabulous dessert that’s great for company, special occasions or holiday dinners. No one will be able to stay out of it!

Prepare to swoon over every bite of Caramel Apple Angel Trifle!

It will be eaten down to the last crumb!

If you enjoy Caramel Apples, you’ll rave over this dessert!

You can make it in a 9×13″ glass baking dish, if you prefer.
Here’s what I did.

I used these ingredients.

Cut up an Angel Food Cake into one-inch cubes. Set aside.

Place softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Mix with an electric mixer until smooth.

Add Cool Whip.

Mix again with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Add Angel Food Cake cubes.

Stir well to combine.

Spoon half of the Angel Food Cake mixture into a trifle dish.

Spoon one can of Caramel Apple Pie Filling over top of the Angel Food Cake mixture.

Top pie filling with the remaining Angel Food Cake mixture.

Spoon remaining can of Caramel Apple Pie Filling over top of the Angel Food Cake mixture. If desired, reserve a few of the apple slices for garnish.

Spoon Cool Whip over top of the pie filling, leaving a one-to-two inch border. You may not require all of the Cool Whip.

If desired, you can spoon a few of the reserved Caramel Apple slices over top of the Cool Whip–or sprinkle lightly with cinnamon. Refrigerate a minimum of 2 hours before serving.

If you wish to make this dessert in a 9×13″ glass baking dish, make sure you have a deep-dish (not the typical pyrex dishes). Spread all of the Angel Food Cake mixture on the bottom of the dish. Top with both cans of Caramel Apple Pie Filling. Spoon and swirl Cool Whip over the top, leaving a one-to-two inch border. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon, if desired. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving,

You can also make this dish in individual parfait dishes, if you prefer.

Caramel Apple Angel Trifle will tantalize your taste buds!

I took the large trifle dish to our potluck and gave this rectangular dish to some neighbors across the street. They RAVED over Caramel Apple Angel Trifle!

My neighbors always enjoy seeing John coming, because he’s usually bringing some sweet treat like this!

All the Empty Nesters just about cleaned out this dish. There were only a couple of servings left for us!
