I was looking through old computer recipes a couple of months ago to see if I could find a recipe for cookies where I already had everything on hand. I stumbled across this oldy but goodie. I had just enough Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to make it left over from Christmas holiday baking. We keep candy in the garage refrigerator so it last’s longer.
A friend from church texted me and asked me if I would consider making some cookies for their elder retreat. They were taking food to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. I ended up baking up Monster Brownies, Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies, these cookies along with Apple Cinnamon Rolls, Raisin Cinnamon Rolls and Chocolate Chip Sweet Rolls. They told me that everyone gained about 5-10 pounds on that trip. 🙂
Peanut Butter Surprises turned out really well. When I scoop the dough, I pack the dough into the scooper so the ingredients stick together better and don’t crumble. They bake up really poofy and wonderfully. They’re perfect for any kind of occasion, including tailgating parties, potlucks, holiday parties and especially as a way to use up leftover Halloween candy later in the year.
Peanut Butter Surprises have a surprise in every bite. 😉 The chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups make these cookies a cut above other cookies. Indulge yourself and your family and you’ll see what I mean.
Peanut Butter Surprises are so scrumptious.
Anything with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ranks an A+ for me!
These drool-worthy cookies are perfect for tailgating parties and potlucks.
This is a great way to use up leftover Halloween candy too!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Soften butter. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs, chunky peanut butter and vanilla.
Cream ingredients with an electric mixer until smooth.
Combine dry ingredients. Set aside.
Chop Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I cut each one in eighths.
Add flour mixture and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Stir, stir, stir, until ingredients are really well combined.
Scoop cookie dough with a large cookie scoop and pack dough into scoop until level.
Place cookie dough balls on greased cookie sheets.
Bake cookies at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until done. Rotate cookie sheets on racks after 6-7 minutes of cooking time.
Cool cookies on racks before serving.
Add a glass of milk and enjoy!
We loved the way these cookies turned out.
Peanut Butter Surprises are great snacks for soccer or gymnastics practice too.
Here’s the recipe.
