Sea Salt Caramel Chip Brownies with Caramel Icing
Have I got a doozy of a recipe for you today! Sea Salt Caramel Chip Brownies with Caramel Icing are totally decadent and utterly wonderful. I started with my delicious Fudge Frosted Brownies–a recipe I’ve used for almost 40 years! But instead of using chocolate chips I used Sea Salt Caramel Chips. Then instead of my regular fudge frosting I, again, swapped out the cocoa for more sea salt caramel chips. The result? Absolutely amazing.

Oh my goodness, the caramel icing alone is enough to die for, but add brownies with caramel chips and you certainly have one heavenly recipe. I have to admit, if I was not bringing them to friends, I probably would have eaten half a pan in two days! Yes, they’re that good.
My husband loves a good deal–and he always manages to find them! So back in January he brought home about 8 or 10 bags of sea salt caramel chips for 41 cents per bag!!!! Yes, he couldn’t resist and neither could I. So now that I had all these caramel chips what was I going to do with them?
I offered to bring a meal to a young family in our church who was going through the adoption process after fostering some siblings for about a year. That’s when I came up with this recipe. Along with a batch of Cheesiest Macaroni and Cheese and our delicious homemade Honey Whole Wheat Bread, I made one of our favorite comfort meals.
If you’re looking for one of those “to die for” recipes, you’ve got to make up a batch of Sea Salt Caramel Chip Brownies with Caramel Icing for your next party or special occasion. Be but warned! These brownies are addictive. 🙂
Sea Salt Caramel Chip Brownies with Caramel Icing are awesome.
I recommend baking a batch of these brownies for any office or tailgating party, potluck or backyard barbecue.
Caramel chips and chocolate are amazing together.
This is what I did.
I used these ingredients for the brownies. Yes, the sea salt caramel chips were marked down to 41 cents at Kroger! Yay.
Place cocoa, sugar and melted butter in a large mixing bowl.
Cream with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add sea salt caramel chips and finely diced pecans.
Stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
Grease a 9×13″ glass baking dish. Add brownie mixture and smooth top.
Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool brownies completely before adding icing.
I used these ingredients for the icing.
Melt butter with milk and caramel chips. Remove from burner.
Add salt, vanilla and powdered sugar.
Whisk ingredients to combine.
Spread caramel icing quickly over top of the cooled brownies.
Sea Salt Caramel Chip Brownies with Caramel Icing are rich, decadent and so mouthwatering you won’t be able to stop eating them!
This divine recipe will have you drooling after the first bite.
The luscious caramel icing makes these brownies so sumptuous.
Here’s the recipe.
