Heath Bars with Buttercream Frosting
Oh my word, these delectable blondies are nothing short of divine! Truly, Heath Bars with Buttercream Frosting will knock your socks off! First, you start with a heavenly chocolate chip cookie dough, but instead of chocolate chips you use chopped Heath Candy Bars. Then the blondies are iced with a luscious vanilla buttercream frosting and sprinkled with MORE Heath Candy Bars. Oh my. I can eat my weight in these brownies (but that would not be a very pretty sight!)
About once or twice a month I go on a baking binge where I bake goodies that I store in containers in the freezer. I specifically make them so my husband can take them when he visits with friends. Everyone loves homemade cookies and brownies and I am only too happy to supply them!
I baked these scrumptious blondies back in June. But it wasn’t until a week or two ago that John took them with him on a visit to some trustees in Mississippi. We are in Colorado Springs for his summer trustee meeting this week and met up with those trustees. They told me how much they enjoyed them (and even signed up for my blog which was a great encouragement to me). They were eagerly awaiting the posting of this recipe! So here it is. 🙂
Heath Bars with Buttercream Frosting are perfect for Christmas holidays, summer holiday fun, backyard barbecues, potlucks and family reunions. Quite frankly, I don’t think there’s any time when these jewels wouldn’t be the perfect dessert for any family function. After one bite, I believe you’ll be convinced too.
Heath Bars with Buttercream Frosting are absolutely sensational.
You’ll be drooling over the delicious vanilla buttercream frosting on these blondies.
I assure you, you won’t be able to stop at just one!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients for the blondie.
Place softened butter in a mixing bowl. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and salt.
Mix with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add UNBLEACHED flour. (Bleached flour toughens baked goods). Add chopped Heath Bars.
Mix with a wooden spoon to combine.
Grease 9×13″ glass baking dish or spray with cooking spray. Press cookie dough into prepared baking dish.
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool blondies completely before adding frosting.
I used these ingredients for the frosting.
Soften butter and mix with an electric mixer until creamy.
Add powdered sugar, vanilla and milk.
Mix with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Spread frosting over top of cooled blondies. Sprinkle with additional chopped Heath candy bars.
Heath Bars with Buttercream Frosting are breathtaking.
If you enjoy Heath Candy Bars you’ll rave over this delicious dessert.
