Italian Cheese Biscuits
Italian Cheese Biscuits are absolutely delightful. These savory drop biscuits are filled with Italian herbs like basil, thyme, oregano and marjoram. They also include sharp cheddar cheese and garlic powder to amp up the flavors. The really nice thing about these biscuits is they can be whipped up and baked in about 30 minutes. I love quick and easy recipes. This one sure is easy.

These are similar to my Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits. But I wanted a different taste than parsley and garlic. They have the ease of drop biscuits (no rolling or kneading). But have the delicious herbs in the batter as well as in a garlic butter sauce spread over top after baking. They taste heavenly. While I served them with my Easy Chicken Pot Pie recipe, these are terrific as a side for soups and salads as well.
If you’ve never cooked with marjoram before you’re in for a treat. It’s a delightful herb and makes everything taste so much better. I know most of you probably don’t carry it in your spice rack. But it’s work getting and trying out. I have a homemade bread recipe that I make almost weekly. It includes this tasty herb. So I keep marjoram on hand all the time. Marjoram is wonderful in breads, sauces, casseroles and soups. Spread your wings and start using it every now and then. 🙂
Italian Cheese Biscuits really hit the spot. If you want quick and easy homemade biscuits to wow the socks off your family, this will do it. Enjoy.

If you want delicious, you’ve gotta give these easy drop biscuits a try.
Every bite was finger licken’ good!
I served Italian Cheese Biscuits with Easy Chicken Pot Pie. Both were amazing.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Place UNBLEACHED flour in a mixing bowl. (Bleached flour toughens baked goods). Add salt, baking soda and baking powder.
Stir ingredients to combine well. Add 1/4 cup butter and cut in with pastry blender.
Keep working the butter into the flour mixture until coarse crumbs form.
Add garlic powder, basil, thyme, oregano, marjoram and sharp cheddar cheese.
Add half-and-half.
Stir until combined.
Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Scoop out biscuit dough with a one-quarter cup scoop.
Place on prepared baking sheets.
Bake at 400 degrees about 15-20 minutes.
While biscuits are baking, make butter glaze. Melt butter. Add seasonings and stir well.
Brush butter mixture over top of biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven. Coat the tops and sides well.
Serve Italian Cheese Biscuits with your favorite entree.

Italian Cheese Biscuits go with any kind of entree. But they were exceptionally good with Easy Chicken Pot Pie.
I liked them spread with butter and apple butter. Sounds crazy but they were scrumptious.
