I saw these delicious looking appetizers on my FaceBook feed back in January. I thought they would be a fantastic and hearty appetizer for Super Bowl Sunday. I was right. I served them with BBQ sauce but I’m sure you can use ketchup if you prefer. We had some people eat them plain, but almost everyone felt they were even better with the BBQ sauce drizzled over top. Everyone we served them to gave them two thumbs up.
John and I work with another couple in our church who direct the college and young adult ministry. We meet every Sunday night. But on Super Bowl Sunday we decided to just have food and watch the game. We had a blast! Yes, we made tons of food. They had asked for one of my ice cream desserts, so I also made Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Mud Pie. They all drooled over that. I added a Mexican Corn Dip served with Fritos & crackers.
Our hostess made hamburgers and hotdogs along with about four or five other kinds of dips with chips. Did I say we had a lot of food? The leftovers got sent home with the kids but not before eating a lot of food first!
Cheeseburger Puffs are terrific for a Saturday night meal when you’ve been at ball games or soccer practices with your kids all day. They’re also heavenly for tailgating parties, potlucks or special occasions like birthdays or baby showers. Just squirt some barbecue sauce over top of the hot muffins and you’re good to go. Take a bite for me while you’re at it. 🙂
Cheeseburger Puffs are phenomenal!
They have all that ooey, gooey cheese in the middle. Yum.

Cheeseburger Puffs are heavenly for Super Bowl parties.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Brown ground beef and onions in a skillet over medium heat. Drain grease.
Add barbecue sauce. Any kind will do.
Stir ingredients to combine and heat through until mixture thickens. Set aside.
Meanwhile, place flour, onion powder, baking powder and parsley in a mixing bowl.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Add eggs and milk.
Whisk ingredients to combine.
Add BBQ ground beef mixture and cheddar cheese.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Cut cheese sticks into thirds.
Grease muffin tins very well. Spoon beef mixture into muffin tins about half way.
Place cheese sticks in the center of each muffin tin. Press the cheese down into the beef mixture.
Spoon some more beef mixture over top, covering the cheese sticks completely.
Bake at 375 degrees for 19-21 minutes or until lightly browned and mixture puffs up.
Allow puffs to cool 10 minutes before removing from muffin tins. Drizzle with BBQ sauce to serve.
Are you salivating yet?
Cheeseburger Puffs are wonderful for family or company. They make a great weekend meal when you’ve been shuffling kids all day from practice to practice.
Serve with pickles, if desired.
