My husband picked up a couple of packages of this tasty product back in May. I knew it was time to use it up, so I decided to make these appetizers for a graduation party in early June. Along with Hot Feta Artichoke Dip, I took both of these appetizers to the home of some close friends whose son graduated high school. John and I work with the parents of the graduating student on Sunday nights. They host a college group in their home for our church.
She had massive amounts of food. But I told her I’d bring some appetizers since she had plenty of everything else. The Caramelized Jalapeno Bacon Twists fit in perfect with the BBQ and other kinds of food they served.
I found the recipe from one of my neighbors home cookbooks. But instead of using regular bacon, I thought it would be terrific with a little bite. I was right. The heat from the jalapenos plus the sweetness from cinnamon and brown sugar was just perfect. Everyone who tried one of these bacon twists came back for more!
This recipe has bittersweet memories for me. I took the appetizer to a graduation party that was on June 6, 2020. Later that night (around 11-11:30pm) my husband suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke. He wasn’t expected to live. It was an event that rocked our world. He is one of the 5% that recover from something like this. God had mercy on us and John still lives and is recovering at a rapid pace. We are grateful.
This is a simple and easy recipe for potlucks, holiday parties or company. Caramelized Jalapeno Bacon Twists are marvelous for just about any kind of function or to snack on at home. While these treats definitely have some heat, we found them irresistible.
Caramelized Jalapeno Bacon Twists are sensational! I served them with Hot Feta Artichoke Dip.
These little bacon twists are great for tailgating or holiday parties.

Here’s the recipe.
I used these ingredients.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Stir well with a fork.
Cut bacon strips in half. Coat each side with brown sugar mixture.
Dredge bacon well on both sides until you get good coverage.
Twist each bacon piece.
Place Bacon Twists on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. If desired, cut some slits in the paper so the grease will drain. You can also put the bacon pieces on a rack, if desired.
Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees, until crisp.
Drain bacon pieces on paper towels to absorb excess grease.
Transfer Bacon Twists to a serving tray to serve.
This was fantastic served with Hot Feta Artichoke Dip.
Caramelized Jalapeno Bacon Twists have the heat from the jalapeno-rubbed bacon and sweetness from the brown sugar and cinnamon.
If you’re having a gathering with friends, these are great appetizers.
