Colorful Tomato Mozzarella Salad
Gluten Free Living – 2024
Colorful Tomato Mozzarella Salad was so delicious I ended up making it about 3 times before I was able to move on to any new recipe! 🙂 Seriously, this is a palate pleasing salad that’s easy to make and certainly a crowd-pleaser for company. It has the perfect blend of flavors and if you enjoy “caprese” style salads, this one is perfect!

I initially took this dreamy salad to an Empty Nesters’ Potluck at our church. I also brought along a Peachy Berry Tossed Salad (because we always seem to need side dishes) and a Blueberry Angel Trifle. This salad was cleaned out pronto so I had no leftovers to bring home. ;( Right after that, one of our neighbors was in the hospital and when they came home, I bought them Cavatini, one of our favorite Breadmaker Breads, this tasty salad and some Banana Nut Bars. They raved over the meal and really enjoyed the salad.
I really loved this salad–it’s so light and refreshing. It’s certainly elegant enough for company. I had to drive around to find yellow tomatoes though. I finally found them in abundance at our local Sprouts store. (Similar to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s if you live in another part of the country).
If you have a garden and grow yellow tomatoes, this is a fabulous way to enjoy eating them! Colorful Tomato Mozzarella Salad is excellent paired with just about anything, but I certainly enjoyed it with steak and chicken! Enjoy.
Colorful Tomato Mozzarella Salad is sensational!
If you enjoy “Caprese”-style salads, this one is fantastic.
It’s certainly a beautiful and elegant salad for company dinners.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Spread spinach leaves on top of a serving plate or platter.
Slice tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Place on platter in alternating fashion. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Slice fresh basil leaves in thin strips.
Sprinkle fresh basil over top.
Drizzle balsamic vinegar and olive oil over top. Allow ingredients to stand 15 minutes before serving. (You can also refrigerate a few hours before serving).
Serve!
When I took this dish to our Empty Nesters’ Potluck, it was one of the first dishes to be cleaned out!
Colorful Tomato Mozzarella Salad was such a crowd-pleaser every time I served it, that it will be on our menus frequently!
If you have your own garden and grow yellow tomatoes, this is such a delectable way to serve them.
Here’s the recipe.
