Rosemary Romano Chicken rocks! This quick and easy chicken entree can be oven ready in about 5-10 minutes! No kidding. 4c Gluten free Italian bread crumbs, romano cheese, rosemary, Italian seasoning, fresh garlic, olive oil and salt and pepper comprise this great chicken casserole. I keep these gluten free bread crumbs in the freezer so I can use them any time and not go stale. Also, since I prefer to eat gluten free as much as possible, this enables me to have a nice coating on the chicken without using regular bread crumbs (which almost always use high fructose corn syrup).

We had company over for dinner shortly after moving to a new home in 2016. I served this tasty chicken dish along with Antipasto Salad, Fresh Summer Veggie Bake and Strawberry Shortcake. They liked the fact that the main dinner menu was so healthy so they didn’t feel so guilty indulging in the Strawberry Shortcake. 🙂 The chicken really turned out incredibly tasty.
It is amazing how many recipes turn out well using basic ingredients and leftovers I need to get rid of. I had a small block of Romano cheese leftover from some other recipe. Plus, I knew rosemary tastes really well with chicken so I thought I would give this a try modeling it a little after my Parmesan Chicken Bake. It did turn out really well with everyone enjoying it, so this recipe is definitely a keeper! It was so good that I’m sharing the recipe again with new blog followers.
If you’re looking for a simple yet delicious chicken entree that doesn’t require a lot of work, then Rosemary Romano Chicken is for you! It’s a great recipe to make when you want to put several dishes in the oven at once. It could probably even work well in a toaster oven if you are trying to conserve electricity. Regardless of what kind of sides you choose to serve it with, I guarantee you’ll want to make this tasty chicken entree again and again. I know we do!
Rosemary Romano Chicken is a delightful, savory main dish with wonderful flavors.
This scrumptious chicken entree is seasoned with garlic, rosemary, Italian seasoning and Romano cheese.
We really enjoyed the crunchy texture of the breading of Rosemary Romano Chicken.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients. The mason jar contains pink Himalayan sea salt.
Freshly grate romano cheese. Place on a plate with gluten free bread crumbs, pink Himalayan sea salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and rosemary.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Dredge chicken pieces in cheese mixture. Press well on both sides so ingredients adhere to the chicken.
Grease a 10×15″ glass baking dish. Add chicken pieces. Drizzle with olive oil-minced garlic mixture.
Bake, uncovered about 1 hour.
Sprinkle remaining romano cheese over top of chicken and bake an additional 5-8 minutes or until cheese melts.
Garnish chicken with fresh rosemary, if desired.
I served Rosemary Romano Chicken with Fresh Summer Veggie Bake (which is a vegetable tian).
This lightly seasoned recipe is wonderful to the taste buds.

(My own concoction)
Rosemary Romano Chicken
Equipment
- 1 10x15" glass baking dish
- 1 small bowl
- 1 wooden spoon or whisk
- measuring cups
- measuring spoons
- 1 spatula
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts boneless, skinless
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup dry 4C gluten free Italian-Style bread crumbs can use regular bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup Romano cheese shredded
- 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/2 to 2/3 tsp. dried rosemary (use less if using fresh)
- 3/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup Romano cheese shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Spray a 10x15" baking dish with olive oil cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, stir olive oil and garlic; set aside.
- On a plate, combine gluten free bread crumbs, ½ cup shredded Romano cheese, rosemary, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
- Dredge chicken pieces in the bread crumb/cheese mixture.
- Pat crumbs into the chicken to adhere.
- Place breaded chicken pieces in baking dish and drizzle with olive oil/minced garlic mixture.
- Bake about 1 hour.
- Sprinkle remaining ½ cup Romano cheese over top of each chicken breast.
- Bake an additional 5-8 minutes until cheese melts.
- Garnish with sprigs of fresh rosemary.
