Three Meat Chili
Gluten Free Living – 2023
Three Meat Chili is a scrumptious and delightful chili recipe for those who prefer a lot of meat in chili. This one includes ground beef, Italian sausage and ground turkey. It also includes both pinto beans and red beans, along with diced green chiles, jalapeño peppers and chili powder to add a little heat. In other words, it’s fantastic. 🙂

I made up a batch of this delicious chili back in early June. I was trying to clean out more meat from my freezer and additional canned goods from my pantry. This recipe fit the bill and on top of that it was quite tasty. It also reheats wonderfully for lunch menus and leftovers. I used Mexican Stewed Tomatoes along with a spaghetti sauce that included Italian Sausage and garlic. All the flavors came together beautifully, complementing each other rather than one overtaking all the others.
Fall will be upon us soon and Three Meat Chili is a great entree for those cool evenings when you want to take the chill out of the air. It’s great served with any kind of bread, roll or cornbread. I liked it with Tortilla strips, cilantro, avocado, sour cream and Cheddar cheese. If you’re in the mood for a fabulous bowl of chili, give Three Meat Chili a try now!
Three Meat Chili includes three meats and two kinds of beans.
It’s delightful served with Tortilla Strips, sliced avocado, fresh cilantro and Cheddar Cheese.
It’s also good served plain without all the toppings!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
I also used this.
Place ground beef, ground turkey and ground Italian sausage in a large Dutch oven.
Use a hamburger chopper to break the meat up into small pieces while frying.
Brown meat until it is no longer pink. If it has a LOT of grease, drain the grease.
Add onions, green bell pepper and diced and seeded jalapeño peppers.
Stir to combine and sauté the veggies a few minutes.
Rinse red beans in a colander. Add to chili pot.
Rinse Pinto beans in a colander. Add to chili pot.
Add the diced green chilies, red beans and pinto beans to the Dutch oven.
Add tomato sauce and Mexican stewed tomatoes.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Add seasonings.
Add the spaghetti sauce. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to low. Cook, covered with lid, for an hour to an hour and thirty minutes, until flavors meld.
Serve!
Garnish Three Meat Chili with your favorite toppings. We like sour cream, Cheddar cheese, sliced avocados, cilantro and Tortilla Strips or Fritos Corn Chips.
This is also great served with cornbread or homemade rolls. Yum.
Whether you choose to serve this with a lot of toppings, or only a few, it’s great down to the last drop.
Here’s the recipe.
