Crème de Menthe Meltaways
Crème de Menthe Meltaways are melt-in-your-mouth good! I love the flavors of chocolate and mint. Furthermore, I love Andes crème de menthe candies! Now that Andes have come out with their delightful crème de menthe baking chips I have been in hog heaven finding ways to use these delicious chips. I have used them in several recipes, like Crème de Menthe Cookie Dough Cheesecake Brownies and Crème de Menthe Chunk Cookies. And now, I’m rolling out Crème de Menthe Meltaways.

I have a couple of really lovely recipes for meltaway cookies. These are cookies that literally melt in your mouth and dissolve as you eat them since they are made with cream of tartar, powdered sugar and oil in the batter. I am STILL trying to use up an abundance of leftover baking stuff and candy from Christmas so I decided to use up one of my last bags of crème de menthe baking chips on a batch of these cookies.
I rolled Crème de Menthe Meltaways in regular sugar but a colored sugar can be used during the holidays. If you like the taste of cookies that dissolve in your mouth, and you enjoy eating Andes Crème de Menthe candies, then you will love these delicious Crème de Menthe Meltaways. Consider making a batch of these cookies the next time you need to make cookies for kid’s activities or just because you want to fill your cookie jar!
When I initially published this recipe in July 2013, I was a little disappointed by the flatness of the cookie. That problem was corrected when I made the cookies this time (January 2017) by adding an extra cup of flour to the recipe. The cookies didn’t spread to the point where they flattened out, and still had that incredibly good taste of chocolate and mint. Enjoy.
Crème de Menthe Meltaways are filled with Andes Crème de Menthe baking chips.
You can roll these in any color of sugar. I used regular granulated sugar but turbinado also works.
Crème de Menthe Meltaways are filled with the flavor essences of chocolate and mint. They are wonderful!
Here’s a stack of Crème de Menthe Meltaways. These cookies are great for snacks or office parties.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Soften butter and place in a large mixing bowl. Add oil. Add eggs, vanilla, powdered sugar, sugar, cream of tartar, salt and baking soda.
Mix with an electric mixer until smooth. Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add a package of Andes creme de menthe baking chips.
Stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
Roll dough into balls and roll in sugar (regular or colored sugar will work).
Place cookies that have been rolled in sugar on cookie sheets that have been lightly sprayed with cookie dough.
Bake at 375 for about 12 minutes or until done. My oven usually takes longer.
These luscious tasting cookies just seem to melt-away in your mouth! Crème de Menthe Meltaways are a sweet treat your whole family will enjoy–especially if you like chocolate and mint!
Crème de Menthe Meltaways have a LOT of sugar, so be prepared for a sugar high! These cookies are fairly quick and easy to make up. You can have a batch ready to eat in under a half hour.
Each bite is filled with scrumptious crème de menthe baking chips. Oh, my! Pack up a batch of Crème de Menthe Meltaways for your next picnic.
Here’s the recipe.
