Creamy Parmesan Ranch Dressing is the best salad dressing ever! 🙂 Really. This delicious dressing combines the best of a Homemade Ranch Dressing with Parmesan cheese so it’s super thick and creamy. It’s the perfect dressing for Taco Salads, regular tossed salads, BLT salads or even to serve as a dip with veggie dippers.
We had our church’s care group over on Friday night several weeks ago and I decided to make up a Taco Salad. Initially I planned on purchasing a salad dressing at the grocery store, but I forgot. So I had to come up with something on the fly. I decided to improvise on my Creamy Parmesan Dressing by adding a Ranch twist. It was so wonderful that several of our guests came up to me and told me how much they enjoyed it. I’ve actually made the recipe several times now, and I’ve served it over all kinds of salads. It’s perfect every time.
Keep in mind that once you refrigerate the dressing, the parmesan cheese tends to absorb all the liquid so you may have to thin the dressing with a little milk before using. I would start out with the lowest amount of milk and then continue adding milk whenever you need to. I actually had this dressing in my refrigerator for a couple of weeks before using it all up so it will last more than a day or two.
If you’re looking for a fabulous dressing to top one of your favorite salads, then give Creamy Parmesan Ranch Dressing a try. It really is tasty and not difficult to make. I usually keep the dry buttermilk mix in my refrigerator so it will last several months that way if you want to make this recipe a lot. I used one batch of my Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix so this recipe is a lot cleaner than most Ranch dressings. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Creamy Parmesan Ranch Dressing is awesome!
This recipe makes about a pint of salad dressing. So it’s plenty for several salads.
Creamy Parmesan Ranch Dressing is perfect over Taco Salad.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients. I used Just Mayo because it’s a little healthier and has less preservatives than many mayonnaises available these days.
Place dry buttermilk mix in a salad bowl. Add mayonnaise, sour cream and parmesan cheese.
Add salt, pepper, parsley, dill weed, onion powder, garlic powder, onion flakes, chives, thyme and milk. Start with about 1/4 cup milk. You may need to add a few more tablespoons milk after you refrigerate the dressing.
Whisk ingredients to combine.
Here the dressing is actually a little thinner. It will thicken up considerably after refrigeration. The parmesan cheese absorbs a lot of the liquid.
I added a few fresh chives over top of the dressing.
Here’s the recipe.
