We were asked to bake up some Christmas Cookies back in early December so our community could share goodies with the infirm and shut-ins living here. There are over 3,000 homes and the group putting this together wanted to fill up about 100 bags. We were happy to oblige and threw together some Coconut Chocolate Chip Meltaways and these Reese’s Cup Meltaways as well. They were glad to get the cookies and we enjoyed being of service to our community.
While this cookie recipe uses a lot of ingredients, it’s really not very difficult to make. This is one of my favorite “melt-in-your-mouth” cookie recipes and the recipe turns out spectacular every time. No matter what I combine it with, the cookies are just plain scrumptious in my opinion.
I’ve tried it with Creme de Menthe candies, Butterfingers, Chocolate Chips, Peppermint Chips, Heath English Toffee Bits, Candied Cherries, Oreo Cookies, Crystalized Ginger, Sea Salt Caramels, Tropical Pineapple, Coconut and Coconut Chocolate Chip. Each batch turned out wonderfully. I usually roll the cookies in granulated sugar before baking. That makes them extra delicious.
If you want to wow your family and friends, make up a batch of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Meltaways the first chance you get. Everyone will swoon over them, and you will go home with an empty plate!
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Meltaways are outstanding!
These luscious cookies are perfect for tailgating parties or potlucks.
Every bite will knock your socks off!
These scrumptious cookies have amazing flavor and texture.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Soften butter and put in a large mixing bowl.
Add powdered sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract.
Add oil.
Mix ingredients with an electric mixer until smooth.
Unwrap Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and discard foil and paper wrappers. Chop into small pieces.
Add unbleached all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Mix ingredients thoroughly with a wooden spoon to combine.
Roll mixture into golf ball-sized balls.
Roll dough in granulated sugar until very well covered.
Spray cookie sheet pans with cooking spray. Add cookie balls.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until done. Rotate cookie sheet pans on oven racks after 8 minutes of baking time. My cookies took 18-19 minutes to bake completely.
Eat and enjoy!
Stack them up; add a glass of cold milk; and dig in!
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Meltaways are great cookies to take to office parties. Everyone will rave over them.
This is a great way to use up leftover Halloween candy too!
