Peppermint M&M Cookies
Peppermint M&M Cookies are absolutely delightful. Especially if you like a dose of peppermint with your chocolate. 🙂 I saw a package of White Peppermint M&M’s at Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago and decided to snatch up a couple of packages for a new creation.

I can’t ever remember seeing peppermint-flavored M&M’s before so I was intrigued. These lovely cookies actually start with my Snickerdoodle cookie dough, but instead of rolling them in cinnamon-sugar, I pressed the peppermint M&M’s in the cookies instead. I also added some peppermint extract to amp up the flavoring and voila! A new cookie was born. I was really pleased with how well they turned out.
Some friends of ours moved into a new house a couple of weeks ago, so I offered to bring them a meal that included my Parmesan Chicken Bake (our favorite chicken recipe), Mixed Vegetable Casserole, Swiss Vegetable Medley, Italian Seven Grain Bread and a batch of these delicious cookies.
They loved everything but said their youngest son ended up eating most of the cookies because as they were trying to unpack they would give one to him every time he got fussy! 🙂 The cookies kept him very happy. Ha!
If you’re looking for a scrumptious cookie for your Christmas Cookie Exchanges or other holiday parties, give Peppermint M&M Cookies a go. You’ll only be able to find the peppermint M&M’s for a very short time in the stores, so time is of the essence! Watch them be gobbled up in no time.
Peppermint M&M Cookies are delightfully flavored peppermint cookies using peppermint M&M’s!
These festive cookies are great to take to Christmas Cookie Exchanges.
There are more white colored M&M’s than red, so most of my cookies have four white colored M&M’s and one red colored M&M in the center. A few of them are vice versa.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Place Crisco shortening, sugar, eggs, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and peppermint extract in a mixing bowl.
Mix with an electric mixer until creamy.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods.
Stir ingredients with a wooden spoon to combine.
Spray cookie sheets with cooking spray. Roll dough into balls and place on greased cookie sheets.
Press 5 peppermint M&M’s in each cookie. You can mix and match, place them in order like these or totally random. Whatever you prefer. You will NOT use up all of the M&M’s.
Bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes. (My cookies took 23 minutes to bake!)
Serve cookies with a glass of milk!
Peppermint M&M Cookies are delightful. Peppermint lovers will go crazy over these cookies.
Take a stack of these cookies to your office parties and they will be gobbled up right away!
Here’s the recipe.
