Best Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Teresa Ambra

I love these outrageous cookies! Best Chocolate Chunk Cookies are the perfect blend of chocolate and vanilla. I start with my favorite copycat recipe of Mrs. Field’s Chocolate Chip Cookies. I use only real vanilla extract–no substitutes. The flour is increased so the cookies don’t flop after baking. I’ve also lengthened the baking time so the cookies don’t end up doughy on the inside! Then I’ve swapped out chocolate chunks for the chips. Chocolate chunks are about twice the size of chocolate chips so there’s even MORE delicious chocolate in every bite. Yes, yes, yes!

By now you know I bake a LOT of cookies! John gives them out frequently, but I made these for a different occasion. Back in July our church had a Kid’s Fest (carnival) in a local park. We provided all kinds of amusements and games for kids along with free food. I coordinated cookie collection. I drafted recruited several volunteers to help me bake thousands of homemade cookies. I made about 12 different kinds of cookies including M&M, Sea Salt Caramel and Hershey’s Nugget Cookies. Everyone loved sampling our home-baked cookies, and these Best Chocolate Chunk Cookies were very well received.

Almost anything with chocolate goes like wildfire and these cookies were no exception. If you’re looking for a no-fail delicious chocolate cookie then put these delicious jewels on your priority baking list. They’re perfect for summer parties and holidays, but they’re also great for tailgating and holiday baking and parties, too. I guarantee you won’t come home with many leftovers after serving these amazing cookies!
