Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Teresa Ambra

Garlic Parmesan Chicken is awesome. Plus it’s a three-ingredient recipe! Yes, that’s right. Three ingredients. It’s so quick and easy to whip up. It can be oven ready in less than 5 minutes. Besides chicken, it includes a packet of Good Seasons Garlic and Herb salad dressing mix and parmesan cheese. That’s it. Shake the chicken up in the salad dressing mix and parmesan cheese and you’re off and running.

Truly the hardest thing about this recipe is finding the Garlic and Herb Salad Dressing Mix. We found it at Walmart-online. My husband bought several packets of it for us so we can make this in the future. The recipe I was using said you could swap out regular Good Seasonings Italian salad dressing mix. But I really wanted to try it with the Garlic and Herb flavoring instead. Boy, was it delicious.

We are fortunate to live in a neighborhood enclave where our neighbors take care of each other. It is a delightful place to live in the Dallas metroplex area. Back in May, John and I were out walking one night. We ran into a couple of our neighbors and discovered she was going to be having surgery one week and her husband the next. I asked if they could use a meal. She was overjoyed by our offer.

When it got down to a few days before surgery, it turned out that she wasn’t going to be coming home that first night as we planned. I already had everything ready to go for this meal, so I opted to make a really quick & easy meal for the night before as well. That meal included Cavatini (which is a staple recipe in my house). I also sent a loaf of homemade bread (another staple recipe that I have memorized). I included some fruit and a dessert from my freezer: Raspberry Swirl Bars. Yumm-o, right?

They raved over that meal. John brought it and only the kids were home. They had wolfed down the contents really quickly! Their son is autistic and he doesn’t like a lot of foods that have a lot of ingredients and interactions. But he loved the cavatini. They also loved the dessert. 🙂 The next day, John brought them Garlic Parmesan Chicken, New England Butternut Squash, Grilled Herb Vegetables and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie. I figured they already had bread from the night before, so didn’t overdo it. Julie told me her son hates peanut butter, but LOVED the pie! She was home by then and also able to enjoy this easy and delicious meal. She also wanted recipes. 🙂

Garlic Parmesan Chicken is an incredibly easy recipe for weeknight suppers. Add some grilled veggies and/or salad and you’re good to go. It really doesn’t get any easier than this. You may find that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy this fantastic chicken entree. It’s just too delightful, easy and delicious to pass up!

    Teresa!

I know you posted this awhile ago, but I’m just now stumbling across it. As a working mom of 3 kids on a budget…this recipe was perfect! Super easy to make and all the family loved it. Will definitely be putting this in the weekly rotation!

Hi Riley. So glad you enjoyed the recipe. Another of my favorite easy chicken recipes is Parmesan Chicken Bake. Vintage recipe that’s pretty easy also. Our very favorite. 🙂

Your photos are beautiful, and I’m sure this chicken is delicious, BUT that’s waaay more sodium than we care to have per meal, let alone for 1 piece of chicken. Also, I try not to get my kids ‘addicted’ to salt as a flavoring. We like to use fresh herbs, instead. That being said, I DO LOVE your cooking blog. I’ve made many of your recipes, and was very pleased with the results. They’re in my rotation. Thanks 🙂

Hi, Angelina. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. There are many people, however who do not have the luxury of cooking with fresh herbs and need quick and easy recipes. Have a great week.

Dry herbs in lesser amounts also work, and all have some in our pantries. It’s sad, that most convenience products, which we all rely on at times, are processed with so many unhealthy ingredients, and way too much sodium, which is the #1 cause of hypertension in the U.S.

Hi, Angelina. You’re absolutely correct. Most of the time I use my own herbs and spices. But since I saw the recipe I thought I’d give it a try as is. Thanks for sharing.
