Ravioli Lasagna
Ravioli Lasagna is the best! I love ravioli, although I’m not big on making my own due to the time and effort involved. I also love lasagna. So when I discovered this quick and easy recipe I couldn’t wait to try it. It didn’t disappoint either.

You layer sausage or cheese ravioli with a jar of spaghetti sauce, browned ground beef, and mozzarella cheese. A little Parmesan cheese on the top when you’re baking it adds a nice flavor too. This recipe is so simple you can have it ready for the oven in about 15 minutes – the time it takes to cook the ground beef and the time it takes to heat the water to boil the ravioli. Assembly time is only a few minutes.
This super easy and delicious Italian casserole is from Taste of Home’s Casserole’s booklet. The original recipe had only 4 ingredients. I added 1 ingredient by putting parmesan cheese on top. I can’t stress how easy this recipe is–yet it’s big on taste. Use whatever flavored spaghetti sauce you like. I used three-cheese, but any kind you have on hand will do. This is also a very economical main dish. If you prefer, switch the ground beef for Italian sausage, instead.
If you want a really quick main dish idea for supper, then Ravioli Lasagna may be the ticket. This recipe is kid-friendly, too!
When I initially posted this recipe in the first few weeks after beginning my blog, my pictures were taken with a small iPhone 3 camera. They were ok with photo editing but really nothing to write home about. I’ve been remaking all my first year posts so that I can get better pictures of those recipes.
Ravioli Lasagna came up for a remake (September 2015) when I wanted to bring a meal to some friends who recently had their fourth child. This easy entree has always been one of our favorite recipes, so I thought their family might enjoy it too. I was correct. They loved this dish. I think you will too.
Doesn’t Ravioli Lasagna look marvelous?
Ravioli Lasagna makes about 4-6 servings.
Ravioli Lasagna is one of the easiest lasagna recipes you’ll ever eat!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients. I had to defrost my ground beef.
Brown ground beef in skillet. While the recipe calls for ground beef, I think Italian sausage would work excellently in this recipe, too. Here the meat is browned and I hardly have any grease to drain. Set aside.
Spread a third of the jar of spaghetti sauce on the bottom of a 2 1/2 quart baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray. (When doubling the recipe I use a deep-dish 9×13″ or 10×15″ glass baking dish).
Meanwhile, as you are browning meat bring water to a boil in a large sauce pan. Boil the ravioli. This usually only takes about 3 minutes to cook after the water comes to a boil again and after adding ravioli. Drain ravioli. Layer half the ravioli noodles on top of the spaghetti sauce. I have used either cheese or beef ravioli, but any kind will work. Sprinkle half the ground beef on top of the ravioli.
Add mozzarella cheese.
Repeat layers: Add another third of the jar of spaghetti sauce and smooth over the top. Layer the remaining ravioli noodles on top of the spaghetti sauce. Sprinkle the remaining ground beef over top of the ravioli. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over top of the ground beef. Spoon the last third of the jar of spaghetti sauce over top and smooth across the top to spread as evenly as possible. Sprinkle the top of the spaghetti sauce with Parmesan cheese.
Cover with foil. Bake in 350 oven about 35-45 minutes or until bubbly. (This will depend upon what size dish you use, and if you are doubling the recipe.) Remove from oven. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over top and bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
Ravioli Lasagna is one of the tastiest pasta dishes you will ever eat.
Here’s a side view so you can see the ravioli stacked up in the casserole.

Looks yummy! Is it possible to assemble the dish one day and bake and serve it the next day? Trying to save time. Thank you…

Absolutely. You won’t have to bake it too long even if it’s cold from the fridge. I’m thinking 30-45 minutes tops.
