These cookies are so satisfying, especially if you’re in the mood for a chocolate fix. I happen to like coconut and pecans too, so it’s doubly delightful for me. I am so glad I don’t have nut allergies so that I can enjoy cookies like these.
My husband John gives out cookies weekly to friends and people he works with. So I am always baking up something in order to restock our freezers. As we are getting into the fall, I’m trying to scale back my baking somewhat so I can clean out my freezers and have them empty for my annual Christmas Cookie Extravaganza.
I’m planning on baking upwards of 5,000 cookies this year. I have to have plenty of room to store them until we actually start the assembly process. The first batch of 12 different kinds of cookies begins the first week of November. I’m trying to get all the cookies out to folks in our neighborhood before Thanksgiving. That’s about 2,000 cookies.
As soon as those are cleared out, I begin baking for family, friends, co-workers and folks from our church. That will be another 2,000 to 3,000 cookies. I try to get those out by the second week in December. Then I take a break from cookie baking for awhile. I usually need a couple of weeks to recover. 🙂
If you’re looking for a heavenly Christmas cookie this year, try German Chocolate Cookies. They’re quick and easy and they won’t cost you an arm and a leg to make them. Plus, if you’re a chocolate lover you’ll find these delightful. If you enjoy German Chocolate Cake, this version is so much cheaper and easier. 🙂
German Chocolate Cookies are awesome!
Each cookie is filled with chocolate chips, pecans and coconut.
These are delightful cookies to make for Christmas cookie exchanges or holiday baking.
German Chocolate Cookies are also great for tailgating parties and potlucks.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Pour German Chocolate Cake Mix into a mixing bowl. Add eggs and oil.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Add chocolate chips, pecans and coconut.
Stir with a heavy spoon to combine well.
Roll dough into balls and place on greased cookie sheets. I had to keep my hands moist while rolling.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 13-15 minutes or until done. I was baking 3 racks at a time so my cookies took about 18 minutes to bake completely.
German Chocolate Cookies are perfect comfort food.
