I love a good oatmeal cookie, especially when it’s filled with fruit, nuts, chocolate chips or other great ingredients. This one is hearty, filling, satisfying, and just the right texture.
We overbought on our dates during the Christmas baking season. So I had about 8 boxes of dates I wanted to use up. I started going through my collection of cookbook recipes. I happened to notice a recipe on the back of the dates box. (My favorite place to get recipes). The recipe looked good so I thought I’d give it a try.
I wanted to take a tray of goodies to my dentist’s office a couple of weeks ago and felt like they would enjoy these. My dentist came into the room and said the oatmeal cookies were wonderful. When I told him they had dates in them, he did a double take. He doesn’t eat dates! In fact, he told me if he had known what was in them he would’t have even sampled them. I asked him if I had changed his mind about eating things with dates and he said, “absolutely!” And he was going to make sure he got another Double Date Delight Oatmeal Cookie before he left for a ski trip later that day!
Double Date Delight Oatmeal Cookies are the real deal. Whoever the recipe creator was for the Amport Dates package did an excellent job on this cookie because it’s terrific. Crunchy, chewy, mouthwatering. If you’re looking for a sumptuous oatmeal cookie with dates in the batter, than I highly recommend Double Date Delight Oatmeal Cookies.
They’re a great selection for holiday baking, tailgating parties, or anytime you need to bring a cookie to the office or for parties or potlucks. Give them a try. I liked the ingredients and texture of this cookie so much that I’m going to start making oatmeal raisin cookies with this recipe. You will be as delighted as I was, (and my dentist office staff was), when you sink your teeth into these delicious jewels.

Double Date Delight Oatmeal Cookies are truly delightful!

I made whopper sized cookies!

I loved the chewiness of these cookies from the dates. These whopper cookies are great for tailgating parties or office parties.
Here’s what I did.

I used these ingredients.

Soften butter. Add brown sugar, sugar, eggs, baking soda and vanilla.

Mix with an electric mixer until smooth.

Stir in UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add dates and oatmeal.

Stir ingredients with a wooden spoon to combine.

Drop by tablespoonfuls or use a 1/4 cup cookie scoop for whopper-sized cookies.

Spray cookie sheets with cooking spray. Place cookie dough on top of baking sheets.

Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes for small tablespoon-sized cookies. These whoppers took 25 minutes to bake all the way!

Double Date Delight Oatmeal Cookies are incredibly good. I liked the dough so much I’m going to use this recipe to make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies in the future.

Double Date Delight Oatmeal Cookies are so satisfying. I loved having one of these goodies hot from the oven.

If you enjoy dates in cookies, you’ll love these.
Here’s the recipe.
