Peach Dump Cake Cobbler

Teresa Ambra

Peach Dump Cake Cobbler is awesome. All the Dump Cake recipes are heavenly and this one is no exception. I’ve made Dump Cakes with every imaginable combination over the years and all of them turn out so spectacularly.

Follow Me On Instagram!

When I first posted this recipe over a year ago I made it with fresh peaches because I was trying to use them up. Recently, I made two more versions of this Peach Dump Cake Cobbler, one with regular peach pie filling and another one with the new peaches and creme pie filling that I had never seen before. Both were wonderful but the one using peaches and creme pie filling was beyond marvelous!

I love Dump Cakes and I have several versions of them. The first time I tasted a Dump Cake was at a potluck labor day picnic in 1978. The woman who brought it used peach pie filling and apple pie filling. She sprinkled hers with cinnamon and also added the coconut and nuts. It was absolutely delicious.

Here are some wonderful Dump Cake combinations:

1) cherries, pineapple, coconut and nuts

2) cherry pie filling, blueberry pie filling, crushed pineapple, coconut and almonds

3) apple pie filling, cranberries with coconut and pecans

4) fruit cocktail, crushed pineapple and coconut and nuts

5) canned pears, apples, peaches and pineapple, coconut and nuts

6) strawberry pie filling, coconut, and nuts….

You get the idea. It’s a very versatile recipe and the more fruit in the batch the better it tastes! I have no idea who originated the dump cake recipes. I didn’t.

I got this recipe from a friend back in the early 80s and have enjoyed it probably hundreds of times. It’s a great quick and easy dessert to prepare for someone when you are taking them a meal–which is what I did with this one–twice! Now that Gluten Free Cake Mixes are available, this is a really easy gluten free dessert too!

I recently remade this recipe (September 2022) because the pictures were from early blog days and not as clear as I would have liked. I served it to our Wednesday night Bible study home group. Everyone raved over it and wanted more!. This easy 6-ingredient vintage recipe is still a favorite no matter where I take it. You’re sure to love it too.
