Hot Sauce

This is one quick, easy and delicious Hot Sauce to make. If you love chips and salsa or anything Tex-Mex, you will love this excellent Hot Sauce recipe. All you do is put the ingredients in a blender, then after pulsing a few times the sauce is done! This five-ingredient recipe uses whole canned tomatoes, cilantro, diced onion, garlic salt, and a jalapeno pepper. That’s it!

When John was teaching a Sunday school class at a church in Cedar Hill in the 2000s, one of the gals in our class made this marvelous Hot Sauce every time we had a Tex-Mex potluck–which was often. I finally asked Mylia for the recipe and she told me, “It’s so easy!” I’ve had this recipe in my book over five years and finally I’ve gotten around to make it myself. She was right. This recipe E-A-S-Y. You can adjust the amounts to suit yourself. If you want a hotter sauce, then add more jalapeno peppers when you blend it. I actually used the chopper option on my immersion blender and it worked fine.

I took a batch of Mylia’s Hot Sauce to our Sunday school class’s Build Your Own Taco party last Sunday night and it got cleaned out pretty quickly. I loved the taste of this recipe–and everybody else did too. If you’re looking for a splendid salsa-type recipe to serve on the side with quesadillas, breakfast burritos, tortilla chips or any other Tex-Mex recipe then give this amazing Hot Sauce recipe a try. You’ll be licking your lips in no time.

If you like your Hot Sauce with more heat, simply add more jalapeno pepper. I stopped at one, but the recipe calls for one or two depending on what you like.
